Her artworks are truly mesmerizing and unique – the colorful threads give an appearance of a painting and are a delight to the eyes. Most of my pieces start out with a vague mental image for example “I want to create a landscape that has lots mountains and rivers.” Some pieces I also take inspiration from current pieces and build on them. I will then begin to make sketches of the landscape on paper where I will add and take away various features. I spend a lot of my time thinking about colour combinations and stitching types e.g. French knots, satin stitch If I want a more intricate piece I will use fine threads. Most of the time I will get all my threads out in front of me to help visualise. Once I am all set, I will then sketch onto fabric and begin stitching, the process is quite fluid I do change it around and some pieces come very organically.”
