Talking about his shooting process, the photographer says, “Each cat has been photographed in the house of their owners, so I installed the same setup in the owner’s apartments or houses and we do the shooting. The set up must be strictly identical so that the series gives the impression that all the cats have been photographed at once, but it took me several weeks to make it.” Alexis further elaborates that he doesn’t use photoshop to make cats appear as if they are standing on two legs. He says, “There is no photoshop, everything is done using studio flashes and a black background. Yes, there is a little “trick” but I keep it secret, and it is done during the shoot, not in post production :)” The photographer also mentioned, “I love cats and animals in general and at no time was one of the cats forced to take the photos.
